Dr. Tharwat Hassane
Dr.Tharwat is currently Professor of petroleum engineering at British University and the Head of the petroleum engineering department at (ECU) Egypt, Tharwat holds BSc. In Petroleum Engineering, MSc. Petroleum Engineering and Ph.D. in Reservoir Engineering from Heriot-Watt University (UK) Dr.Tharwat has more than 22 years in oil industry in technical and managerial positions worked for Schlumberger more than 15 years and 4 years with BP and 2 years with Baker Hughes worldwide in the Gulf and North Africa in Well logging, Petrophysics, and Reservoir Simulation. Dr.Tharwat is an author and co-author for many published papers covering many aspects in Petrophysics and Reservoir engineering. He is a member of SPE, AAPG, and SPWLA .also he supervises more than 20 researches in both conventional and unconventional reservoirs. He contributes in Petrophysical book by 2 chapter’s titles (Applied techniques to integrated oil and gas reservoir characterization) will be published by Elsevier June 2019 In addition; He worked as an Advisor of the Energy Committee in Egyptian Parliament. with images data, fractures density and fractures ID, Stress identification and orientation from breakout and induced fractures interpretation, Anisotropy using acoustic logs. Integration to better improve the results by combining Images data with acoustic (XMAC) for a throughout fractures investigation, Flex for minerals identification, NMR for fluid flowness and fluid mobility; Designing the RCI sampling program based on the images techniques and results to avoid any well damage. Currently highly solicited for several geoscience freelance consultancy services (log interpretation, processing and qc), conferences and E-learning activities with reputable companies in Angola, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Algeria, and involved in business development, sales and marketing strategies in the same sector of activity.
